MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace is kicking off her gubernatorial campaign with a Wednesday visit to Myrtle Beach's Veterans Cafe and Grille.
The three-term Congresswoman from South Carolina's Lowcountry is among a slate of high-ranking GOP names vying to replace Henry McMaster next year: Others running include Attorney General Alan Wilson, U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman and Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette.
Mace announced her candidacy in Charleston on Monday.
Since arriving in Washington, D.C., Mace has aligned herself with President Trump and has become a centerpiece in efforts to roll back transgender rights -- last year introducing legislation to ban transgender women from using women's restrooms and changing areas on the Capitol grounds.
