SHREVEPORT, La. — A local company is lending a helping hand to keep one Caddo Parish Head Start campus clean and germ-free.
Fastenal Company donated 250,000 disposable gloves to the Alphonse Jackson Jr. Early Head Start Center as part of its Pay It Forward initiative. The gloves are latex-free, food-safe, and ideal for maintaining hygiene — especially during food preparation.
Staff at the center say the donation meets a daily need.
“We use gloves all day, every day,” said Sarvitra Godwin of Alphonse Jackson Jr. Early Head Start. “Diaper changes happen all day. Handwashing all day. They use them for toothbrushing when they clean the babies’ teeth — even the infants. They have to get the gauze. So they use gloves all day.”
