BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Charter schools could soon be coming to North Dakota. That's all thanks to state leaders who passed a new charter schools law — SB 2241 — during this year's legislative session.
The new law went into effect on August 1st, and it authorizes the creation of charter schools here in our state.
Just like any public school, charter schools teach K-12 content requirements, but with a different emphasis. Charter schools come with many different options, such as schools that meet the needs of students with disabilities, hands-on learning, stem approaches, and connected trade schools.
Some advanced charter schools even allow you to graduate with an associate's degree.
