CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - The visions for a multi-million dollar pickleball complex in Shreveport are starting to become a reality.

On Monday, August 4, 2025, during the Caddo Parish Economic Development Committee meeting, individuals involved in the development of the complex had the opportunity to speak with commissioners about the benefits it would bring to the community.

"This will let rights holders know, in this region, in this country, that we are serious about youth sports tourism, and sports tourism as a whole. This is bigger than just pickleball," said Patrick Wesley, Director of Parks and Recreation for Caddo Parish.

Some commissioners had concerns about various aspects of the complex, including funding, ensuring there are ample shaded areas for protection from the sun,
