GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Connecting the latest generation with the Greatest Generation.

That is how the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum near Granite Falls describes its mission to tell the story of this country’s role in World War II.

Diane Fagen told the West Central Tribune that she and her husband, who founded the museum, especially want it to serve as an opportunity for young people to learn about the war.

She pointed out in a story published in 2023 that the “window is closing” to hear firsthand accounts from living World War II veterans.

“We hope we learn a lesson,” Ron Fagen said of the history that World War II can teach. He was speaking to students during a Pearl Harbor Day observance in 2023. “We hope something like that does not happen again.”
