FARGO — A crash on Interstate 94 in March 2015 would change the lives of many people, especially the then 23-year old NDSU student who nearly died — and who would quickly learn he had lost his eyesight.
Now, 10 years later, the mother of Elias Youngblom has written a book about the trauma and emotions of the recovery that followed and the amazing success of her son today.
The book is titled "Because We Must."
It is hard to forget our first visit with Elias Youngblom 10 years ago.
"That is huge; way to go," a therapist said to Elias in 2015 as he started rehab at the Courage Center.
Elias was injured after a drunk driver going the wrong way on Interstate 94 near Fergus Falls hit his vehicle head on.
Yet, here he was shortly after the crash, learning how to maneuver through life again.
