FARGO — The second weekend of the Red River Valley Renaissance Faire has been canceled following severe storms, but the feast will go on.

The medieval-themed festival at the Red River Valley fairgrounds was slated to continue Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9 and 10, but severe storms "caused significant damage and flooding to the fairgrounds," the Red River Valley Fair said in a Friday release.

"The safety of our guests, performers and vendors is our top priority, and the site is unfortunately not in a condition to safely host the event," the release said.

Those who planned to attend the feast, however, are in luck, as that event will proceed as scheduled.
