ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Albany is not just the capital of New York State, it is America’s oldest continuously chartered city, and its residents had the opportunity to share their ideas for a better downtown. Governor Kathy Hochul was joined by hundreds of others in Albany Wednesday evening with one goal: to revitalize the city's downtown.
“We have an opportunity to come and share ideas about what we can do to bring it back,” said Arlene Way, the Director of Arbor Hill Development Corporation.
Gov. Hochul kicked off the three-phase workshop, and said with hundreds of millions to invest, all ideas are welcome. “We need the community to be engaged. The planning, the ideas, the vision must come from the people who live here and call this home.”
