SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Mesonet, operated by the University at Albany, celebrated the 10-year anniversary of its very first weather station in Schuylerville. It opened in 2015 at Hudson Crossing Park.

The network has since expanded to 127 stations across the state and is now the largest early warning weather detection system in the country. Each site captures real-time data on temperatures, wind, humidity and more.

"This station has stood here quietly, but it's impact has been profound -- not just here but across the entire state," Village of Schuylerville Trustee Michelle Campbell said. "This station provides real-time weather data, helping emergency responders, farmers, researchers, and local governments make smarter, safer decisions every day."
