TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Marana Town Council on Wednesday voted to approve the annexation of 52 acres of land near Linda Vista to build a large-scale housing development.

The vote went through despite dozens of residents voicing their concerns on the impact the development will have on existing properties, roads, the environment, and, more specifically, who will benefit financially from this proposal.

“Today, you will need to decide who you are going to represent: Corporate land investors and special interests or Marana citizens and their quality of life,” one Marana resident said to the town council during Wednesday night’s meeting.
