ELM GROVE, La. - Frustration is boiling over in Elm Grove. Residents say brown, murky water is pouring from their faucets and bathtubs, and no one’s giving them answers.

Brown water is what came out of the bathtub just Wednesday morning when Elm Grove homeowner Joy Mitchell tried to run a bath.

She’s lived in this home for 27 years and says she’s never seen the water look this bad.

“It’s happened on and off over the years, but this is by far the longest it’s ever gone on,” said Mitchell said.

Mitchell says she can’t drink the water, bathe in it, or even wash her clothes.

Laundry’s been on hold for a month. She’s worried the murky water will leave her clothes dirtier than before. And taking a bath? That’s not even an option.
