By next spring you’ll be able to ride a bus directly to the Chicopee ski hill in southeast Kitchener.
Construction began in July on a transit pad, sidewalk extension, and paved trail that will connect the ski chalet to a Grand River Transit stop off Morrison Road.
“We’ve got a lot of people who work here who ride the bus to get to work and they no longer have to walk those extra couple blocks,” said Bill Creighton, chief executive of the Chicopee Ski and Summer Resort.
“It’s also fantastic for the people coming to use the facility.”
He said the long-planned transit stop will help transform the non-profit resort into a year-round destination, pending upgrades to the chalet.
