CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - A pillar of Shreveport's Mardi Gras scene is ready to introduce its new royalty.

The krewe will bid farewell to last year's Silver Court Royalty and introduce this year's royal court.

Guests are invited to dress in cocktail attire, semi-formal, or traditional African attire that reflects the krewe's commitment to cultural heritage.

The Krewe of Harambee has served the Shreveport area for the past 25 years.

Organizers said the krewe offers scholarships for students to initiatives supporting families in crisis. Each year, the Krewe participates in parades, community service, and social events that embody the spirit of unity, remaining true to its name "Harambee," a Swahili word meaning "Let's pull together."
