CHICAGO — A homicide investigation is underway on Thursday morning after a man was found shot to death on the city's South Side overnight.

According to Chicago police, just before 10 p.m., officers were called to the scene following a report of a person shot in the area. When they arrived, they found a 27-year-old man unresponsive on the ground.

Officers said the man had suffered a gunshot wound to his head and was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed and no arrests have been made.

An investigation into the deadly shooting is now underway.
