Top professional and amateur golfers from across the state will be gathering in Blythewood today to compete in the 8 th annual S.C. Women's Open at Cobblestone Park Golf Club.

One of South Carolina's most competitive and prestigious golf tournaments for women, the event will feature open and senior professionals, as well as open and senior amateurs, with a total purse of $20,000 available for distribution to professional players who make the cut.

The event kick's off today at 1 p.m. with a Pro-am presented by Experience Columbia SC Sports that is open to men and women in teams of four, paired with one professional. Registration for the Pro-am, which includes lunch, drinks, gifts, awards and live entertainment with the Time Pirates trio, begins at 11 a.m.
