Several United Airlines flights at Boston's Logan International Airport were canceled or delayed after an Aug. 6 system outage disrupted routes across the United States.

The airline said a "technology issue" – not related to cybersecurity concerns – was behind the outage that grounded United Airlines flights at multiple airports around the nation.

"Due to a technology issue, we are holding United mainline flights at their departure airports," United Airlines said in a statement. "Safety is our top priority."

While the tech glitch was resolved by 10 p.m. ET, United Airlines said it was anticipating residual delays across its network.
