Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan discussed rural health care with Tanana Chiefs Conference leaders at Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center Wednesday afternoon, the second day of Kennedy’s tour of Alaska.
Sullivan said during a press conference that the meeting focused on rural health care in the Interior.
He reminded Alaskans that the One Big Beautiful Act that passed in July maintains the 100% federal match for Alaska Native and American Indians accessing Medicaid and exempts them from new Medicaid work requirements.
“These are things Sen. Murkowski and I worked hard on and we want people to be aware of those,” he said.
TCC officials discussed health care challenges facing Alaska Natives, including lack of access to t
