LINCOLN – Proposed Rhode Island Public Transportation Authority cuts would mean big changes for Lincoln bus riders. In an effort to manage a $10 million deficit, representatives from RIPTA recently announced that they plan to reduce statewide transportation services.

The cuts would affect 58 of the state’s 67 bus routes. While the majority of changes would impact the frequency of bus runs and days of service, it is proposed for RIPTA to eliminate 11 bus routes, including Route 73 (Mineral Spring/Twin River/CCRI), Route 75 (Dexter/Lincoln Mall), and Route 59x (North Smithfield/Lincoln Mall park and ride).
