In a nutshell, that's been the game plan of the Upper Deck Post 14 American Legion baseball team since the four-time state champions dropped their opening game of the double-elimination Northeast Regional Tournament on Wednesday morning.

Defeat a tough opponent in the losers' bracket. Move on to another elimination game. Win a couple more of those games, and reach Sunday afternoon's championship round.

Upper Deck began its climb from Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the New York state champion, Rochester’s Greece Post 468, by holding off Massachusetts champion Fall River Post 464, 2-1, on Thursday morning at the College of the Holy Cross’ Fitton Field.
