SMITHFIELD – Since opening their Smithfield store during the first week of May, business has been going great at Sonia’s Deli, Unit K at the Apple Valley Mall, according to owner Ara Janigian.

“The community has welcomed us with open arms, we have met some great regulars, and we’re excited to meet more,” Janigian told The Breeze .

Located at 445 Putnam Pike, Sonia’s has also been getting great feedback from patrons, said Janigian, who are excited to have clean, healthy fresh food, which the area has lacked.

“We opened in Smithfield for a few reasons,” he said. “We noticed there was a lack of options in the area. Most restaurants in Smithfield are chains, serving processed and unhealthy foods.”
