TYLER, Texas (KETK)-- A mother was arrested Wednesday afternoon after she left her 8-week-old baby in a hot car during her eye appointment in Tyler.

According to the Tyler Police Department, around 11:45 a.m., officers responded to Stanton Optical on S. Broadway Avenue, where an 8-week-old child had been left in a car that was not running by her mother, 22-year-old Adasia Henderson of Tyler.

The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment and observation while Henderson was arrested for abandoning/endangering a child.
