EUGENE, Ore. - The second annual Back to School Giving Tree campaign is underway at Valley River Center in Eugene. This initiative aims to ensure every child in the community begins the school year with confidence.

Shoppers can select a donation "apple" tag from the Giving Tree, each listing an essential clothing item for local youth in need. After purchasing the items, donations can be dropped off in buckets next to the tree.

"Back to School Giving Tree" is a collaboration between A Family For Every Child and JCPenney. This year, donors will receive a discount on their entire purchase at JCPenney.

"We've identified four categories hoodie, sweat pants, jeans and t shirts that's mainly what the youth are after," said Heather Callahan, development director for A Family For Every Child. "S
