LOGAN, W.Va. — Slow travelling today for those passing through Logan County.
Logan County sheriff’s deputies said a collision between a small car and a semi caused a massive mess on U.S. Route 119 Thursday morning and at noon the road remained closed between the Fountain Place Shopping Center exit and Old Logan Road.
According to deputies, the car crossed a median curb in that area and hit the semi hauling cinder blocks around 7:30 a.m. The impact killed the driver of the car. His name has not been released.
The semi lost the load and spilled cinderblocks for a half-mile down the highway. The state Division of Highways continues to remove the debris from the road way. At this time it’s unclear when the highway will reopen.
An investigation is underway into the crash.
