HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — Henderson County High School seniors are keeping a tradition alive by wearing "little kid" backpacks on their first day of school.
While it may seem like a fun start to their senior year, this act carries a deeper purpose. On Friday, Aug. 8, seniors will donate the backpacks to the Elementary and Preschool Family Resource Youth Services Center coordinators.
The event, taking place at 11:10 a.m. at the Henderson County High School football stadium, aims to support elementary and preschool students in need across the district.
The tradition, initiated by the students, is now a valued part of the senior experience.
