HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has closed a lane along Interstate 69 in Hopkins County to repair damage caused by ground settlement.
The right lane of Northbound I-69 is closed at mile marker 111 for the repairs. The closure is between the Mortons Gap and Earlington exits.
According to engineers, the same area was closed last week as they repaired a crack at the site. But, with Thursday's rainfall, the same site lead to future ground settlement issues that need to be addressed.
No timetable set for reopening the lane as crews look for a permanent repairs.
