TOLEDO, Ohio — If your trash and recycling hasn't been collected yet and it normally is by now, local officials are asking that you still leave your bins outside your residence, as collection is operating on a delay.

After striking Republic Services workers from a Teamsters union in Illinois picketed outside an Erie, Michigan plant on Tuesday, a work stoppage has put a collection delay in effect around the region. Though Teamsters Local 20, which represents the Erie plant, is not on strike, workers there did not cross the picket line as a show of solidarity for Local 179.

Ultimately, the situation resulted in a delay in service to some parts of northwest Ohio. This included:

Maumee

Toledo

Monclova Township

Sylvania

Oregon
