NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- NJ Transit suspended service on the Pascack Valley Line in both directions after a person was hit and killed by a train in New Jersey on Thursday, according to the transit service's website.
Pascack Valley Line rail service was suspended between Wood-Ridge and New Bridge Landing just before 11:30 a.m., as announced in a social media post. However, substitute bus service and extra service trains were provided.
The suspension comes after a woman was struck and killed by a train at Sussex Street and Railroad Avenue just before 10 a.m. on Thursday morning, a spokesperson for NJ Transit told PIX11 News. The woman was reportedly trespassing near the Essex Street Station in Hackensack.
