PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - The woman accused of killing her estranged husband outside the Pearl River County Courthouse in December 2024 will remain behind bars.

On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, a specially appointed judge denied Tanya Saucier’s request to be released on bond.

Judge Steve Simpson said Tanya was a “special danger and flight risk,” according to District Attorney Hal Kitrell.

Tanya was also moved to the Lamar County Jail to await trial.

Tanya faces a murder charge after officers said she fatally shot her husband, James Ray Saucier, after the couple’s divorce proceedings had ended.

Court personnel and her divorce attorney witnessed the crime and tried to save James’ life.
