BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - SUMMER WEATHER CONTINUES
We continue our normal summer weather pattern to close out this week. That means be ready for heat and humidity especially early in the afternoon. Deeper into the afternoon we’ll be dodging scattered showers and t-storms. Organized threats for flooding or severe weather are not expected, but we can’t rule out one or two strong/heavy storms. Main concern will likely be frequent lightning and the occasional heavy downpour. Therefore very localized street flooding and sporadic power outages are our main concerns.
MOISTURE SURGE EARLY NEXT WEEK
A surge in tropical moisture is anticipated early next week. The moisture increase will be steered into the local area thanks to a passing tropical wave in the Gulf.
