Winnipeg is making national transit history as the first Canadian city to introduce a 60-foot battery-electric bus into service.

The zero-emission vehicle — unveiled Thursday at a news conference at Winnipeg Transit’s Fort Rouge Garage — will enter limited weekday service next week as part of the city’s broader push toward a greener, more sustainable transit system.

“With the arrival of Winnipeg’s first 60-foot zero-emission bus, our city is making transit history and leading the way in Canada’s shift to sustainable transportation,” said Ben Carr, Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South Centre. “This milestone marks an important step in reducing emissions, improving air quality, and making life better for Winnipeggers.”
