Southern Manitoba’s Highway 3 corridor between Morden and Winkler — and the surrounding RM of Stanley — continues to grow rapidly, fuelled by close cooperation among the three communities.

“It’s a very vibrant area for sure,” said Stanley Reeve Ike Friesen. “There’s a lot of construction along the highway, commercial developments are springing up, and those lots are being bought up quickly.”

Despite long-standing speculation about a possible amalgamation, Friesen says the region is thriving without formal unification.
