LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Public Schools is actively searching for a new superintendent, but for now the district appears to be in good hands.

Dr. John Skretta took over as interim superintendent in January, replacing Dr. Paul Gausman who resigned from his position at the end of the fall semester.

He sat down with Channel 8’s Andrew Ward to discuss his goals for the upcoming school year, staffing shortages in the district and the possibility of taking over the superintendent position as a permanent role.

“It’s such a privilege to be a public face and ambassador to support all things Lincoln Public Schools, and our 42,000 incredible students,” said Skretta.
