YORK, Neb. (KSNB) - A York man is facing felony charges after he said he had sex with a 14-year-old, according to court records.

Carlos Mendez Mechen, 25, is charged with felony first-degree sexual assault, felony intentional child abuse and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a child.

The York County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mendez Mechen Monday after an investigation into a report of a missing juvenile led deputies to him.

The sheriff’s office said they were called out to the area of York Mobile Plaza just before 5 a.m. Monday for a report of a missing girl. The juvenile’s father reported that she had left the home sometime during the night without either parent’s knowledge.
