COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - One man has been transported to the hospital after a three-car collision at the 300 block on Hampton Street this morning, which resulted in his vehicle being split in half, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Officers currently believe that the 45-year-old male was traveling eastbound, potentially speeding, when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed over the median and struck two other vehicles as a result.

The people in the other two vehicles were not seriously injured. Citations for the driver are incoming.

Deputies are still investigating the crash.
