Gouverneur man accused of beating dog with fists, lawn chair

GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. (WWTI) - A 38-year-old Gouverneur man is facing charges after allegedly attacking a dog with his fists and other items.

According to the Gouverneur Police Department, they allege that Troy Burns with torturing/Injuring an animal. It's alleged that Burns was beating a dog with his fists, a lawn chair, and the metal end of a leash.

The incident allegedly occurred on July 23 and the department sends out incident reports on Facebook every few weeks.

He was issued an appearance ticket with a Gouverneur Town Court for a later date.
