An animal cruelty case in North Texas has left 50 to 60 adolescent and adult Maltese dogs without homes.

The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) posted a notice on Instagram stating an "immediate and critical need for foster homes" for the dogs.

Staff noted that the Maltese dogs will need time to decompress, patience to learn house rules, and gentle guidance to master basics because they have not known the comfort of a real home, according to the post.

Each dog will need at least two weeks in a foster home and HSNT will provide all supplies, food and medical support
