SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- There will be an overnight closure on Interstate 481 northbound in the City of Syracuse, Onondaga County.

The New York State Department of Transportation wants you to know that Interstate 481 northbound will be closed to traffic between Exit 16A (481 North/DeWitt) and Exit 1 (Brighton Ave/Rock Cut Rd), in Syracuse from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., weeknights, beginning Thursday, August 7, to Wednesday, August 20, to facilitate the demolition of the East Brighton Avenue bridge over I-481 northbound as part of the Interstate 81 Viaduct Project.

Drivers traveling on Interstate 81 northbound to I-481 northbound are asked to follow the signed detour that directs traffic to Exit 17 (South Salina St/Brighton Ave), to west on East Calthrop Avenue, to north on South Salina Street
