PORTLAND, Ore (KOIN) -- Three people were arrested last week for running an unlicensed towing operation in Happy Valley, authorities said.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, they worked with the Oregon State Board of Towing and Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services to stop "predatory" towing companies operating without proper licensing.

On July 30, during a coordinated enforcement operation, authorities said they arrested three people for operating the illegal business and identified five other towing operations and referred them for enforcement.

All of the businesses identified during the operation had previously also been warned by the State Board of Towing and had continued to operate without licensing, authorities said.
