ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed an arrest detainer against Roberto Romero-Hernandez , the man arrested following a two-vehicle crash that killed a lawnmower operator in Avoyelles Parish.

According to Louisiana State Police , Roberto, 34, was driving north on Highway 1 near the Echo community on August 3, around 9 p.m. He then left the road and hit a lawnmower on the northbound shoulder.

The lawnmower driver was identified as Rickey G. Maddox , 59, of Alexandria. He had severe injuries from the crash and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
