It’s not all homework and tests at Marbury High School in Deatsville. In fact, a senior tradition on the first day of school is one for the yearbooks.
Marbury High School’s senior class of 2026 started the school year off on Thursday with a prank. The students rolled the campus and added “School For Sale” signs. The inside of the school was trashed with balloons, crime scene tape and other decorations.
Principal Jimmy Lansdell told 1819 News it was all a fun way to kick off the new year.
“They can do some pranking, some decorating, but they don't tear up anything,” Lansdell said. “They don't leave any kind of mess that couldn't be cleaned up easily.”
The senior prank was supervised, and everything was cleaned up after the senior breakfast on Thursday morning.
