EAST KILLINGLY, CT (WFSB) - A woman was seriously injured during a 3-alarm structure fire in East Killingly.
According to the East Killingly Fire Deputy Chief, the woman was flown by a helicopter to the hospital.
Her son was home at the time, but he escaped with minor injuries.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation said Route 101 was closed at Chestnut Road for the fire.
Crews were inside battling the fire, but officials said they were pulled out because it became too dangerous.
As of 4 p.m., firefighters were still attacking the fire from outside.
Authorities said the home was a total loss.
