HONOLULU (WTNH) — A Colchester resident and her ex-husband were sentenced to prison for their roles in a decades-long scheme to defraud $29 million from investors in connection with Hawaii-based Semisub Inc.

Jamey Denise Jackson, 62, was sentenced to two years in prison and Curtiss E. Jackson, 72, was sentenced to 13 years in prison.

According to evidence and testimony, Curtiss Jackson, as Semisub CEO, and Jamey Denise Jackson, as the company’s president, falsely told investors a prototype vessel was either weeks or months away from being operational.

The Jacksons solicited funding based on fraudulent statements that Semisub had agreements or relationships with government agencies as well as a private investment firm to build and sell a fleet for tens of millions of dollars.
