Manitoba’s Emergency Management Organization has extended the provincewide state of emergency under the Emergency Measures Act until Aug. 22, citing ongoing wildfire activity.
The original order was issued on July 10 and was set to expire after 30 days. The extension allows the province to continue coordinating wildfire response and access emergency resources.
Officials say the risk of wildfires remains high in several regions. The state of emergency enables authorities to act quickly to support evacuations and deploy personnel and equipment where needed.
