EUGENE, Ore. - The City of Eugene Parks and Open Space Division announced Thursday the opening of the new Downtown Riverfront Park Plaza, a one-acre plaza offering a unique blend of natural and urban amenities.

The plaza features a tree grove, interactive public art, and a water feature with a splash pad. Visitors can enjoy an adventure playground, event space, and panoramic river views from thoughtfully placed seating areas. A grand opening celebration is set for September 12-14, featuring music and food trucks. The $5.3 million project was funded by an Oregon State Legislature Grant, Parks System Development Charges, and Urban Renewal Agency funds.
