LANAKILA, Hawaii (Island News) -- A 42-year-old man is in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

Honolulu Police say the suspect stabbed a 50-year-old man several times with a weapon in the Lanakila area on Thursday, August 7. HPD records show this took place at around 12:45 a.m. on Ahiahi Place.

Emergency Medical Services treated and transported the older man to the hospital in serious condition. HPD reports he was later listed in critical.

Officers later found the suspect at 1002 N. School St. at the Hawaii Public Housing Authority. The suspect was arrested at 1:31 a.m. on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder and third-degree promoting a dangerous drug. He has not been charged at this time.
