Just a few weeks after its Youtube debut, close to 76 million people have already watched a short film co-created by a Surrey pair using an iPhone 16 Pro.
The Apple Mexico company commissioned Luchagore Productions to make the 11-minute El lazo de Petra , directed by Gigi Saul Guerrero and produced by Raynor Shima.
They bring audiences "a Mexican tale about an abuela (grandmother) sharing with her granddaughter about the legendary heroine Petra, a strong charra with her powerful lasso, who thwarts off mythical monsters of the underworld from invading her town."
The short, which includes animations by an indie video game developer based in Guadalajara, not only showcases the cinematic potential of the iPhone, but also "uplifts Mexican women and folklore in a striking, fun-modern wa
