Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– A spokesperson for the SC Attorney General’s Office says a former SC Dept. of Corrections nurse has been sentenced for smuggling drugs into a prison and having a relationship with an inmate.
According to officials, Jameelah Fortune was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison followed by three years probation.
On July 28, Fortune pleaded guilty to Trafficking Methamphetamine, Attempting to Furnish a Prisoner with Contraband, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Criminal Conspiracy.
Officials say the inmate Fortune was involved with has also been charged in connection with this investigation.
