Huntsville Police are awaiting toxicology results in the investigation into the death a 13-year-old killed while riding his bike on Bailey Cove Road.

The wreck happened just after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Bailey Cove and Green Mountain roads. Officers say the driver of the vehicle that struck the child remained at the scene.

According to investigators, the child had just left his home nearby when the wreck happened.

Huntsville Police said they cannot confirm whether charges will be filed and that they are still waiting on toxicology results from the woman who was driving the vehicle that struck the child. They say once all evidence is collected, they will present it to the Madison County District Attorney's Office for review.
