BEDFORD — The annual Claude Akins Memorial Golf Classic is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30, and Sunday, Aug. 31, at Otis Park. The tournament, which features a six-person scramble format, will have morning and afternoon rounds on both days.
The event is held in memory of actor and Bedford native Claude Akins, who spent his career in television, film, and on stage. Akins is widely recognized for his roles as Sheriff Lobo in the TV series “B.J. and the Bear” and its spin-off “The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo.” He is also remembered for his role in the NBC series “Movin’ On.”
Players will be competing for more than $30,000 in prizes. Tournament organizers confirmed that registration is full.
