As of this week, the Manitoba Wildfire Service is tracking 159 active fires, bringing the total for the year to 403—almost 100 above the average of 305.

All burn permits in the Burn Permit Area have been cancelled, and no new permits will be issued. Land-based travel is still allowed unless otherwise restricted, but access into fire zones by air requires a travel permit. For updated fire maps and permit information, residents are directed to the province’s wildfire and Natural Resources websites.
